Celebrities always make for a good read in the tabloid reports. Many celebrities have tied the knot in the most romantic and exciting wedding themes, each trying to recreate something unique and memorable. Here is a list of 10 such celebrities whose wedding themes are as unique as they are.
1. Theme park wedding (Mariah Carey and Nick)
For Mariah Carey and Nick, it was a post wedding theme park party in Valencia, CA which really delighted the bride. They were like two teenagers as they caroused on the roller coaster Tatsu which does a 62 miles per hour on 5 inversions. There was a wood sign which read, ‘Nick and Mariah – A Love Story’ and this was truly reflected in the way they enjoyed the carnival by shooting hoops together. Nick had rented six flags magic mountains to be installed and the whole decor was given touches of Mariah with faux butterflies in vases, painted on cupcakes and festooned with pretty lavender and pink balloons for about 100 guests.
2. Hawaiian themed wedding (Kathryn Rogers and Rush Limbaugh)
Despite the massive age gap between Kathryn Rogers and Rush Limbaugh, the conservative talk show host, their wedding was truly one of a kind. It was held in Palm Beach and had a Hawaiian theme for about 400 guests, where they were all dressed up like natives and the decor was very tropical. The added bonus was the special performances given by Sir Elton John throughout the fun evening.
3. Casino themed cocktail hour wedding (Danielle Deleasa and Kevin Jones)
It was a winter wedding for Danielle Deleasa and Kevin Jones at Oheka Castle in Huntington, NY with 400 guests. The wedding resembled an enchanted forest decorated with 25,000 white roses, orchids and hydrangeas and 14 ft trees. The bride walked down a custom isle runner strewn with Swarovski crystals and snowflakes in her Vera Wang gown of Chantilly lace. The cocktail hour after the ceremony had an authentic casino theme complete with Rat Pack impersonators. There was a seven tiered cake of chocolate mousse and pistachio, embellished with Swarovski crystals.
4. Southern themed wedding (Reese Witherspoon and Jim Troth)
The celebrity wedding of Reese Witherspoon to Jim Troth, a Hollywood agent was certainly romantic and had the intimate feel which was what the bride wanted to recreate. The wedding was hosted for 100 guests in the sprawling estate of Reese at Ojai Valley, California. It was a Southern theme indicating Reese’s root of origin in profusion of calla lilies, roses in white and pastel shades illuminated with candles. It certainly created an intimate feel which conveyed a comfortable, traditional and classic romantic atmosphere for the guests.
5. Bird themed wedding (Kevin Price and Sara Rue)
For her wedding to Kevin Price, Sara Rue went all out for nature in the decor. For her, the beauty of nature was as close to getting to God even though she is not overtly religious. She sees in the little birds and bees, the hand of God at work and certainly used a lot of butterflies and hummingbirds for the special occasion. She had lovely butterfly brooches for the cocktail hour along with butterfly straws even as she beamed in her Armsale gown. She certainly achieved a higher sense of power with her theme wedding.
6. Alice in Wonderland theme wedding (Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz)
For Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz it was a wonderland wedding replete with a wedding cake topped up with a tea pot, pot of flowers, stop watch and top hat in the midst of large white party tents. The wedding was hosted for 150 guests at Ashlee’s parents home in Encino, Los Angeles. Ashlee looked stunning in her Monique Lhuillier gown and accessorized with Neil Lane diamond necklace and earring.
7. Bollywood themed wedding (Kathy Perry and Russel Brand)
Kathy Perry and Russel Brand went all Indian at their Amar-i-Khas resort wedding in North India. It was a very spiritual and private wedding attended by close friends and relatives replete with two elephants named Mala and Laxmi. In the traditional Indian style, the groom arrived on an elephant accompanied by his male relatives and friends towards the awaiting bride. Indian instruments such as the santoor, tabla, kettle drums and sitar along with Rajasthani folk music filled the air with occasional vedic chants. The trees leading to the entrance were lit up with white and blue lights. Prior to the wedding day, the couple gave a Bolly themed party with the guests and couple all dressed in Indian outfits. There were Indian jugglers, acrobats and a colorful welcome laid out.
8. Gothic wedding theme (Adrainne Curry and Chris Knight)
Adrainne Curry and Chris Knight had a Gothic wedding in Adrainne’s hometwon Joliet, Illinois with 250 guests. She did not wear a black gown though but instead worn a white Alvina Valento gown. Her flower girls wore black dresses with red satin bows and the bridesmaid had red dresses with bouquets of black roses. The reception decor casts a very Gothic touch complete with black, red and copper.
9. Salvador Dali themed wedding (Simon Cowell and Mezhgan Hussainy)
Simon Cowell plans to go all out to get what he wants by having a Salvador Dali themed wedding which is based on the surreal. The theme of the wedding itself is, ‘Miracles do happen’ and here he has given a lot of decor ideas, to use melting candles of demons and angles along with Dali’s melting clocks. Simon also wants his wedding with Mezhgan Hussainy to be replete with waiters dressed in oriental outfits. Of course, the Miracle wedding plans are yet to happen even as the music mogul takes time to make up his mind.
10. Medieval themed wedding (Kristy Hume and Donovan Leitch)
Kristy Hume and Donovan Leitch had a medieval wedding on the banks of Loch Lomond in Scotland. It was also very Scottish traditional wedding with the bride sporting a lavender color cascade bouquet and looking like a vision in amethyst and silver coronet headpiece over thin gauzy veil. She wore a dress by Arkivestry of ivory satin brocade and the groom too went traditional in a MacDonald Tartan kilt. There were 140 guests entertained by Highland dancers and celtic bagpipes.
